Super Heroes Have Bugs on the Run

As Walt Disney himself once said, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

And keeping with this spirit, Disneyland is adding in a Star Wars themed land called Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, set to open in 2019.

Disney’s California Adventure is currently going through major changes as well. It could have been guessed from Tower of Terror’s re-theming as Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, but A Bugs Land will be closed soon to make way for a new Marvel-themed land, set to open some time in 2020. This of course raises concerns for smaller children as this was the primary entertainment for them in DCA.

In another section of DCA, the previously titled Paradise Pier section of the park is also in the works being transformed into Pixar Pier. This will be a colorful walk through attractions based on different Pixar films such as «The Incredibles” and “Toy Story.” There will be new food stands like the “Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats” and “Poultry Palace.”

For rides, Toy Story Mania will be staying right where it is, as well as Mickey’s Fun Wheel which will be repainted and have the faces of many Pixar characters painted on the gondolas. King Triton’s Carousel will become Jessie’s Critter Carousel, the Boardwalk Games will now be re-themed to fit with Pixar stories, and the well-known California Screamin’ will now be re-imagined as the Incredicoaster.
