The Royals’ string of impressive victories halted against California Baptist University, a Division I team, on Friday, Sept. 12 in Riverside. Leigha Williams scored off a free kick early in the match, but the 1-0 did not hold long into the second half. The Lancers defeated the Royals 3-1.

The Arizona Christian University Firestorm overcame the Royals by the final line of 1-3 on Thursday, Sept. 27 in Fullerton. The Firestorm drew first blood, but a clever touch from Jade Perez evened the score midway through the first half. Despite the Royals’ best efforts, the Firestorm scored the final two goals of the match.

Following the tough loss to the Firestorm, the Royals roared back to life at home against William Jessup University on Saturday, Sept. 29. Jassmyn Esquivel, one of the most prolific goal-scorers for the Royals, found the back of the net only minutes into the game. This would set the tone for the match, as Women’s Soccer trampled the Warriors 4-1. They now possess a 6-4 overall season record and a 1-1 record in GSAC.

Women’s Soccer plays today, Thursday, Oct. 4, against Vanguard University at 1:30 p.m., and they will play their next home game against Westmont College on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Fullerton College.
